To paraphrash Marlon Brando as Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now;
"I have seen a Krogoth strut along the edge of a straight razor and survive."

To quote me after my fourth battle on this map with 9 pissed off AI's
"Just when you've got the land war figured out the navel game begins."

Question is; what are you goin' to do with the 15 Krogoth's you've built?

The middle counts. Grap it if you can. If you can't then bomb or
nuke it. Naval works as a good distraction while you
                    build your Silencers.
Watch the elevated edge of the map. A land war
(a.k.a. -> Tank rush) is a definite threat.
That's where you'll wind up when you start.

Players 2-4

20x20 Metal and water with a nasty edge.

Summary:
This non-TA:CC metal map expand on 2 map philosohies - the multiple symetrical isles and the "perimeter walkway" - and blends them into a map that is very enjoyable for team, FFA, or all out AI rumbles. Overall, this is one of those fun maps that are worth having in your collection.

There are a lot of metal maps out there, and many don't prove worth a download. This is not one of those - and I'm not even partial to metal maps!

This map stands out in that it has a few very simple, yet effective, techniques blended together to bring you a great gameplay experience. First, it has the "perimeter walkway", a 2 leveled "catwalk that goes the entire outer edge of the map. There are even some walls for hiding behind (effectively, you may need to hide on either side...).

The second feature is a cluster of islands in the middle of the body of water encased by the perimeter walkway. The islands are laid out in a tic-tac-toe patter, although only the north, south, east and west islands are connected to the central, steam rich island.

So what makes this map so fun you may ask?? Starting positions. This map is excellent for any combination of 2vs2, 4vs4, 2vs2vs2 - whatever. You could have the oppsing teams be on the islands or the outer ring, or a mix, or east vs west. And on those days where no one is around for a FFA or team match, the AI is a pretty good opponent 1 vs 9.

The only negative aspects I found were some anomolies in the altitudes along the floor of the water body which might make it difficult to make some objects (like the Arm Underwater Fusion plant). These "bumps" don't effect gameplay though, and you can easily work around them. The tiles appear to be the TAE tileset we've all grown to love, so there's no suprises, and they all mesh together nicely.

All in all, its a map I'll keep on my HD for a rainy day. I reccomend checking it out.
